Two sessions were held throughout the day for us beauty addicts to familiarise ourselves with the latest range and I ended up going to the morning session with fellow blogger Hele so we could fit in some much needed retail therapy after.
We arrived to find a reception of Bucks Fizz and mini bacon sarnies which were much needed after an early start(5.30am) and boring train journey. If I'm honest the Body Shop wasn't a brand that I knew much about, obviously I knew their reputation for their green credentials but not much regarding their product range, which by the way was outstanding.
After an informative talk about the brand and it's ethos we were given a demonstration of their new cosmetic products by celebrity makeup artist, Chase Aston. He shared handy tips and tricks of the trade with us and even offered us all one on one makeover experiences.
I passed on this, after all it had taken me atleast an hour that morning and I wasn't going to rub it all off, even if it was for a makeup artist to the stars but I did get a personal skin consultation done. This was really informative now I know which product range suit me exactly, I really recommend this, you can get it done for free at any of your local Body Shop stores by an expert.
The day was really informative, it was great to have my eyes opened to a whole new range of products I had no idea existed and I can't wait to try. They were extremely generous and gave us a sackful of goodies to take home, mountains of skincare, haircare and loads of makeup!! I've never had any before and I have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised, the eyeshadows and shimmer bricks look great, can't wait to review!
5 Things I rate right now:
- Camomile Gentle Eye makeup remover- amazing, gentle, frangrance free and really removes! My new fave!
- Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream - great for my oily skin, controls shine and moisturises at the same time!
- Olive Shampoo and Conditioner - makes my hair amazingly soft, full of life and shiny!wow!
- Vitamin C face spritz - smells yummy, tones and refreshes skin, move over Mac Fix+.
Last but not least my absolute fave - their new and limited edition lip butter.
YES!YES!YES! (OUI OUI OUI)!
In collaboration with MTV the Body Shop have released this amazing lip butter to help combat the epidemic that is HIV and promote safe sex! It tastes yummy using the exotic fruit, Dragonfruit for it's flavour and is unbelievably moisturising. It also gives a similar muting effect to the lips similar to the Korres Guava lip butter, if that isn't enough it costs £5 and £3 of this goes to charity so do your bit and pick this baby up! I know I'm going for back ups!Everyone we met was lovely and really passionate about the brand, it really was the perfect day out for a beauty addict, thank you for opening my eyes to your products Body Shop.

This looks great holly, but i still think their prducts are quite expensive, especially the make-up. Saying that i havent tried many of the skincare products except the tea tree! xx
@Gabriela,I wasn't either but I never realised how much great skincare there was, I've tried a few bits and I'm impressed, still not sure about the makeup but I'll give it ago!def go check it out!x
@KerryMarie, thats what I thought too and still do, the skincare range is reasonable and good quality its worth a visit to check it out. I've always thought the makeup was expensive, on the same level as Mac, from what I've looked at the quality is good but I still don't like the cheap packaging and at the end of the day I'm a sucker for great packaging!x
All in all ladies, definately worth a visit to your local shop, the body, hair and skincare are really good, definately will be investing in more.Forget Liz Earle for a while but regarding makeup, the new lip butter is great, the shimmer cubes are lovely, the new season eyeshadows are gorgeous colours and great pigmentation but the rest I haven't given a go yet!will keep you all posted!xx

Well from what you said yesterday in the newsroom and what i see here you are SO lucky!
I have always loved Body Shop make up, but always been too student poor to afford any!
I have a few key pieces tho, and the Vit E face spritz is a defo must buy!
It fixes your make up for a whole evening and lasts for ages, I've had mine for months now.
Great blog Hol,
and happy birthday for yesterday again!
Han xx
Great post as for me. I'd like to read something more about that theme. The only thing this blog needs is a few pictures of any devices.
