I honestly thought I was being good this holiday, I only took one makeup bag (a considerably large one at that) full and managed to somehow squish it into my overflowing suitcase. Above is what I took with me, looking at it now it is pretty ridiculous.
I mean who needs 5 different foundations, 4 kinds of mascara and 10 different coloured lipsticks. Clearly not me, below is what I used throughout the whole holiday, I barely reached for any of the pile I took along with me.
I eventually mastered the fool-proof ten minute holiday face. I'd prep my face with L'oreal's amazing Studio Secrets resurfacing primer, apply Laura Merciers TM with my fingers them blend in with my big flat topped kabuki. I then applied a light dusting of Cliniques invisible setting powder to help hold in the shine.
I did take my beloved Mac Blot powder to do this job but unfortunately it smashed on the first day. Luckily I had a back-up in the form of Clinique, otherwise I would of looked like a big shiny mess all holiday without it.
I would then apply Mac's Sunny by Nature all over for a healthy bronze glow, some lip balm and one layer of mascara. I was testing out No 7's new Extravagant Lashes while I was away so expect a review soon.
So that was my simple and really quick daytime face, in the evening when we went out for dinner I basically did the same but added a bit of eyeliner, Estee Lauder's Double Wear cream eyeshadow in Apricot all over the lid, a bit of blush (Mac's Moon River) and some lippie.
YSL's Rouge Volupte in Lingerie Pink No7, I love this lipstick so so much. The consistency is amazing, YSL's lippies are like no other, top of the crop by far and the colour is gorgeous. I just love the milky pale pink especially with a bit of a tan, it really brings the colour out.
I know it's every girls prerogative to over pack and take more than we need but I think I've realised now and hopefully learnt for the future, less is more as they say!!
Does anyone else always take way more than they ever possibly need?!
xx

The NYX lippy is beautiuful!! xx
It's easily done this overpacking malarky - better to be prepared, I always say! xx
LOL! Next time, you should leave more room to buy new makeup.
I'm exactly the same Holly, I pack waaay too much, it's ridiculous! I even know I won't use everything but I can't bring myself to decide what to take and what to leave behind, so I chuck it all in! xxx
Lol, I always take too much stuff before travelling :( btw, your hair looks very cute in the 2nd pic!
Yay! Someone as bad as me, I take too much! I love the pink YSL lipstick gorgeous! x

Ooh, I spot my favourite eyeliner, there: MAC's Fly-by-blue, love it! And u should have seen the amount of stuff I packed to go to the sea, crazy...but then, if u'd left THAT particular thing home I bet u'd have though "Oh no, I really needed that!!" :D
Anna x
PS: have u done a review on the Chanel concealer? I'm really interested in concealers at the mo!
i always overpack too...i hardly use a third of the stuff i brought with me...xoxo
Wow that's a lot of Make-up for a holiday, i never wear any make-up abroad, far too hot! x
hey at least you only took 5 pairs of shoes! When I went to turkey (for a week might I add) I took 10 pairs! I'm an awful packer! That pic of you with your hair in the plait is sooo cute by the way xxx
I don't think I ever take more stuff with me than I need, but I definitely buy more than I need! :o)
The NYX lippie in India reminds me a little bit of Hue by MAC, very pretty!

sad isn't it? haha xxx
I'm exactly the same when it comes to paking my suitcase, I'm a "just in case" kinda gal and always end up cramming in too much, going over the limit for the airline and getting disapproving looks from Chris...oh dear!
those lippies are so pretty!
the look you came up with on holiday is super pretty. very natural and beautiful!
I always overpack too :) loving ur simple makeup looks, u look hot! x
Hi,
I just came back from holidays and it was the same story for me... I always overpack and always reach for the same products everyday... :-)
Me! I swear my make-up bag is what made my case be so over the limit for weight! I only took one make-up bag but it is a huge one so I guess I didn't pack lightly :/
I find my MAC blot powder always shatters, so I will check out Cliniques Invisble Setting Powder next time I'm near a counter!
xox
Overpacking? Guilty as charged!
Trying to master the whole "few versatile products" than half my makeup collection, but it's not always easy! :)))
xxx
Look at all those goodies! And you look fabulous!
I wouldn't have taken any make up on holiday, it'd all melt off my sweaty face lol!!! You look stunning though.
