Mac's Close to Real lipstick!

If you love nude lipsticks as much as I do and you haven't seen this gorgeous new Mac lipstick yet then you have to meet my new love, Close to Real.

I haven't heard many people talk about this gorgeous lipstick from one of Mac's more recent collections, High Definition. I think this might be because it didn't come out in stores or counters only online for some bizarre reason.

Anyway meet Close to Real!

Close to Real is the most gorgeous pale peachy nude, as soon as I saw pictures on Temptalia months ago I knew I was going to love it but I only got round to ordering it last week! Actually I ordered 2 to be safe as it is limited edition.

This is it on the lips on it's own.
Out of all my nude shades that I have which you can see in my latest Lipstick Collection videos here and here this really is my favourite.

The colour is beautiful, the consistency is creamy, it has the traditional Mac vanillary taste and lasts really well on the lips.

Over the last week of wearing it I have found it works really well with these two glosses below.

Mac's lovely Florabundance (left), a pretty pale peachy pink and Nars's true nude, Striptease(right).

Close to Real and Florabundance.

Close to Real and Striptease.
When I popped off the top to take a look at it my immediate thought was haven't I seen this before. At first glance it did look remarkably similar to Mac's Myth lipstick and it does but surprisingly Close to Real is paler and peachier in tone.

I have never really got along with Myth, I loved the true nude colour but the consistancy for me was not the nicest. And that's where the main difference between the two comes in, Close to Real is a Lustre as opposed to a Satin like Myth.

Close to Real is much smoother, softer and easier to work/blend than Myth.

Swatch of both.
Myth on top and Close to Real below.

I really do love this lipstick and I may even be ordering another. If you like your nudes make sure you check it out on the Mac website soon as it is limited edition and won't be available for long.

Has anyone else got this? What do you think?!

It's very similar to Myth...I wanted to buy Myth last time I went to a Mac store but I ended up getting Blankety, another pretty nude. Have you ever tried Dolce & Gabbana classic cream lipstick in - guess what - Nude? I really like it, you should try it!

Looks too cakey & messy. Your make-up always looks the same even though you use diff products, the unnatural look, too much, looks caked on.

Thanx for this post, was really helpful, as I love Myth!
Will definitely be getting close to real now!

Thanks so much for your lovely comment, how do you know I was using different products? I didn't say, a bit of foundation, mascara and eyeliner is not too much in my eyes and who said I wanted to look natural! Be nice if you were honest and said who you were. If you don't like makeup and ppl wearing it why you reading?

wow I'm loving your absolute obsession for mac, I share it! I love the really pale colour lipsticks and bought one in the u.s which isn't available in the u.k, I wore it to work then put the lipstick in my pocket and put the suit in the wash like an idiot when I got home from work, the suit was covered in lipstick and there was nothing of the lipstick left!!! I was DEVOSTATED!

I am who i say who i am, my name is Karen and i work in the beauty industry, big name brands infact. I'm annonymous as i don't have a blog. I only said i didn't like this particular look, i'm not being nasty, just honest. It looked too much and i'm surprised with limited few products, each to their own and all that jazz...

P.S. Of course i like make-up, i wouldn't be making a living out of it if i didn't would i, i just like it perfectly applied, not like a transvestite playing in a make-up box.

Cheerio.

Pretty colour, think my sister as this one too :) xx

@Karen - Sure of course your allowed your own opinion and to voice it, I just don't understand which pic you mean? If you click to enlarge my face pic you can't see cakeness atall, maybe a little too much mascara but thats how i like it as i have small eyes. Also the reason most of my pics don't look too different is because I'm no makeup artist like you and blog more for the love of products, doing reviews and what they look like(swatches) I have never claimed to be artistic or creative!I have a3year old and do not have the time to play with my look nor do I go out so never jazz it up!sorry I'm boring and look like a transvestite but unfortunately we can't all be naturally beautiful. Thanks for your comments tho. Take care!
