Birthday bootie!

I apologise for this belated post, I've been meaning to post it all week but I've been so busy with work! This is a little haul I treated myself to the day before my birthday, I had to get some G.A lashes for my evening of cocktails and couldn't resist picking up some more bits while shopping, so weak!
My love for Estee Lauder continues and I couldn't resist getting a few more things from their Double Wear range. I love these products, they do the best eyeliners I've ever used, super creamy, gorgeous shades and stay put all day!! I purchased another to add to my collection in Black Plum, a beautiful deep purple and another paintpot eyeshadow in Ivory Lace, a great base and highlighter colour.

I'd recently read in one of this months magazines about the Chanel Lift Lumiere eye concealer and as I'm constantly on the mission to erase my eyebags from sleepless night's I had to give it a go. It's supposed to awaken eyes. lift lines and erase darkness and for £30 I hoped it would. A review will be coming soon!

I've heard a lot about this lipstick, Vanilla Truffle and apparently it is always sold out but luckily I got the last one. This is a pretty pinky nude, it's lovely but nothing special, I prefer Gosh Darling or Givenchy's Voluptuous Nude.

I also picked up a Maybelline Lash Stilleto from Superdrug, it was on offer for £5 so if you want to try this, go pick up a bargain. I will also review this product but on initial thoughts I'm not a fan, it just doesn't work for me, I will keep trying though as I really want to like it!
Zara has some really nice summery tops in at the moment so I picked up a few, the sun is out and I need some vest tops! I know it's black and not very exciting but I thought this simple top would look gorgeous with white skinnies and tan sandals! At £9 a complete bargain, they also go it in about 6 other colours!

I love the colours of these tops, powdery blue, very this season and a gorgeous coral. These two are also from Zara.
I have a love/hate relationship with Topshop, one month I love it and find loads of things that I want and others nothing but yay for Toppers at the moment. I'm loving my new cropped skinnies and tan sandals and now this. I always think with skinny, skinnies a longer top works best and this is the perfect length, reaching just below the hips.I also love the feather design around the top, wish they did it in more colours!

Cocktail attire!

So as you know from my previous post this is what I wore to see in my 23rd Birthday the other night. Unusually for me I wore jeans out, I usually always go for dresses as I practically live in jeans the rest of the time and never feel dressy enough. But I loved this look, dressed up but not too much!

Anyway I went shopping in the day to find myself the outfit and allowed myself one hour max to do it! I do my best work under pressure you see.

So this is what I came up with.

Silky Navy top, a bargain at £14.99 from good old H and M, skinny blue jeans in style Crop from Topshop £30 and ofcourse these babies below!

OMG!! These were the first pair I saw as I walked to the shoe department and it was love at first sight. Not only are they my fave colour, Navy, they are atleast 6 inches high which is a must for a midget like me and get this they were in the sale, bonus!

As it says on the box they are by Carvela and I purchased them at my local John Lewis store.

So pretty I love them so much! Just want to eat them, so yummy! Obsesive I know but I love shoes, my second love after make up and handbags which run a close first!

Here is my jewellery of choice for the night, chunky, rope inspired gold necklace from River Island, £12.99 and gorgeou bangles I believe from John Lewis, present from Helen. Thank you so much btw love them!
Some rings that caught my eye in H&M, so pretty, I think they were around £3.99 each!

Celebratory cocktails!

Last night we went out to celebrate my birthday with a slap up meal and some cheeky cocktails, just what I needed after a long day shopping!

I literally ran into my nearest Superdrug to pick up some Girl's Aloud lashes so we could wear them on the night out and luckily my store was fully stocked. So I got Sarah for Hel and Cheryl for myself and Phoebe.

Yum Yum, I think I pinched Helen's cocktail for this pic, oops!

Hele and Phoebe!

The gorgeous food, so pretty yet so tasty!

Clearly impressed with her cubed veggies!

The lashes!
Bad lighting but you can see just how HUGE these lashes are, I love the idea of them but after wearing them for one night I don't think they are for me! They looked like little butterflies on the end of my lashes, I prefer the more natural falsies personally!

Outfits of the Night!
Keeping it simple and classic with cropped skinnies, navy silk top and heels. Accessorised by gold jewellery and a giant tan handbag!

Also sporting a giant bag Hel chose to wear a purple dress and new nude Kurt Geiger heels!

What do you guys think?! Eyelashes a bit much? Outfits ok?!

Lily Lolo mineral make up!

Summers coming and one thing I dread most of all is my make up melting off my face, I have a really oily T-Zone and no matter how many matte/oil-free foundations I try nothing works! Except minerals, mineral foundation is my saviour and my new best friend!

Over the last few weeks I've bought and tried a few, Elizabeth Arden (don't bother), Perscriptives (wow) and now this, Lily Lolo! I have to admit I was pulled mostly by the name and I have had it before, years ago when my daughter, Lily was born but I can't remember what it was like!

So I ordered some more, for the price they are really generous and it's great you can buy samples for 50p to try before you buy! I also got 15% off my order because I signed up to their e-mail newsletter so if your interested don't forget to do that.

This is In The Buff foundation, love the name, it costs £12 for 10g which is well worth it, my past fave Perscriptives mineral foundation was £24 for 9g, so more for half the price!

I've been using this for the last few days and I have to say I really like it and may just may prefer it to the Perscriptives. Both are amazing, great coverage, lasting power and good colours, the only thing the Lily Lolo has that the P doesn't is mattyfying power! This for me is a must to control my oilyness!

I also ordered some blusher samples, they are 49p and come like this, when I first opened the package, the plastic containers surprised me. A little suspicious looking if you know what I mean, well atleast it's not white powder, don't want to get stopped of anything, can just imagine it now. 'No police I promise it's just make up!'
Not tried these yet but will soon!

I also got four samples of concealers and correctors that also come bagged up, in the top photos there are more samples in the little white pots! These cost 99p and one is a foundation in Blondie, a bronzer and a matte finishing powder.

If your into minerals this brand is definately a must see, check out there website here and order some samples to try! They delivery is amazingly speedy too, I ordered on Thurs and got them on Tues, great considering a 2 day bank holiday and weekend!

Oh and remember your 15% discount!

Has anyone else given Lily Lolo a go?!

Girls Aloud Eylure Lashes!

Celebs these days will put there names to anything and Girls Aloud are no exception. Admittedly I've never bought a record of theirs or even the chocolate treat they endorse, KitKat Senses but here's something thats caught my eye!

Who doesn't love fake lashes, I know I do and these babies look great. Each band member has designed their own signature pair, so if you want to look like Cheryl this is a step in the right direction. Sure we can't all be stick thin with a limitless shopping budget but atleast we can all have gorgeous lashes.

It's my birthday this week so of course cocktails with Hele are in order, we will both be road testing a pair of our choice on our night out. I fancy being a redhead for the night and have chosen Nicola's lashes, I love the winged corner effect on my eye shape! Hel fancies a bit of Sarah, going for the ultra black and full effect!

Pictures to come...

These lashes are available nationwide in the UK in all Superdrug stores NOW and on Asos from April 20th.

Which lash personality are you?

London haulin!

When I was in the shopper's paradise aka London last week I couldn't resist a quick look around Selfridges cosmetics hall. Hele and I checked in our crazyily heavy Body Shop goody bags at the bagroom and went on a mission for yet more makeup.

We had an appointment at the Perscriptives counter for our special custom blended lipgloss session! I will do a more in depth post about this later but this was so much fun, it's a great idea for a unique present or treat!

After having that done I hit the Nars counter, where I live there are no stockists so I always go a little mad when I go to one.

This little set came in a gift box and is limited edition to Selfridges. I went to get the infamous Orgasm Blusher (LOVE) but saw this cute duo and couldn't resist. Half Orgasm, half Laguna and my first ever Nars nail polish in Orgasm(bit sheer but nice).

I originally went to get just one eyeshadow in Cyprus(left) but the manager of the counter looked gorgeous and was wearing Galapagos (right) so ofcourse I had to get that one too! Hel then rocked up behind me and convinced me to get California(middle) so I ended up getting three.
Galapagos in on the left and is a beautiful deep brown with shimmer, the middle is California which I love, a bright copper and then my absolute fave on the right is Cyprus a soft beige, gold!

Continueing with my current Givenchy obsession I had to get this multi-functioning compact, this is the Mat and Glow prismissime in Sun Caramel and I love it! Love neutrals, it contains 9 different shades of eyeshadow and is my new handbag essential. It can also be used as a bronzer if swirled together.
I actually picked this up a few weeks ago but thought it shouldn't be left out, this is so pretty and unique, it's Givenchy's Magic Khol pencil in Beige Pearl. Really pretty for the under eye, instead of harsh white this beige open the eyes without being obvious. It has a pretty shine to it as the formulation has crushed Mother of Pearls in it!

Here's a quick look at my custom blended lipgloss, love it, a gorgeous pinky coral, I opted for Meringue flavour and it tastes gorgeous!Pretty and yummy!

And last but not least here are some spur of the moment goodies I got from the Laura Mercier counter, their eyebrow wax in Fair which is good for getting the perfect brow. It's not something I used to bother with a few months ago but now I can't leave the house without groomed brows ,it really makes such a difference.

I also picked up this little pot of powder, I've never seen this before and had to give it a go. Recently I've been religiously wearing minerals but because it's powder it doesn't work with my normal primers so I got this Mineral Primer. OMG this stuff is HG material, if you wear minerals this stuff rocks, it evens out skin tone, hides pores, makes makeup last all day and ultimately stops shine = Flawless look all day!

FOTD-Using Body Shop Shimmer Cubes!

It's been a while since I've done some looks and I had an hour or two on my hands yesterday after finishing my philosophy essay so thought I would try out the Body Shop eyeshadows.

This is just a really simple day time look, it was really quick because I didn't have to fiddle around with any brushes or decide which colours work together. I used their Shimmer Cubes palette in 07 and it was great because every colour in there went together, making it so easy to create a look.

I love the idea of this product, each box contains 4 eyeshadow cubes which you can take out and swap around. The pigmentation is great and they go onto the eyelid really nicely. I used my fingers to blend as recommended by their makeup artist, Chase Aston and was pleasantly surprised.

Really quick and simple look, the lightest colour all over, middle shade in outer half and the dark, plum bronze shade above crease and outer V. I brought the middle and dark shade underneath my eyes to join up both halves. I also used a white Body Shop single shadow as a highlight near my eyebrows.

I would definately use the Shimmer Cube again, I was a bit apprehensive about them at first because I'm not a shimmer fan but I love the end result.

To create this look I used:

Face- Laura Mercier Mineral Primer, Perscriptives mineral powder, Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, Perscriptives Camouflage concealer and Benefit's Erase Paste.

Bronzer/Blush - Nars Orgasm blush, Prestige Glam Tan bronzer and Mac Refined MSF.

Eyes - Perscriptives Gel liner in Twig, Laura Mercier eyebrow wax in Fair, Givenchy eyeliner in Beige Pearl, Estee Lauder eyeliner in Bronze, Body Shop Shimmer Cube and Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara!

Lips - Mac Saint Germain and Mac Tri-colour lipgloss in Just Dessert!

What do you think? Have you ever tried the Shimmer Cubes?

Summer= shades and sandals!

Spring is here and the sun is out, most of the time, which means sunglasses are needed, yay, I love hiding under a pair of shades! Thats one thing I miss in the winter, no need for glasses.

I traipsed around London for hours last week trying to find the perfect pair and I didn't find one pair I liked, not one! For the money they were all so plain and I wasn't going to shell out hundreds of pounds for just any old pair of glasses!

Every year I treat myself to some shades to see in the sun, I think they are a great investment as I wear them practically every day and I always go for classic styles so they'll last forever!

I found these gorgeous Gucci shades in my local designer shop and I fell in love!
Love the crest and the heart shape, so cute!

I decided to get black as I don't own any in this colour, I usually always go for browns and in one case pink!ahh!so bad, I took them out the other day and cringed, oh how tastes over the years change!
From the side!

And front, also sporting Saint Germain, bubblegum lips!

Another summer essential I picked up while shopping was some new sandals which I love, I saw them across the shop and knew I had to have them. They're really simple, tan, my ultimate fave colour and have a little bit of a heel which I need as I'm so tiny!

From the top, love the woven detail and T bar. Also wearing Chinaglaze IV on the toes, pinky coral in case you were wondering!

These babies are from Topshop and are so comfy, they have a rubber sole which makes them really easy to walk in, bouncy and the wedge heel isn't too high!

What are you guys buying to see in the summer?

Mac Sugarsweet!

Sugarsweet was released last Thursday and as you all know I was in London for the Body Shop event so I couldn't pass up a chance to check out the UK's only Pro store in Fouberts Place. I was really excited about this collection, mainly beacause of the collection name, it all sounded so yummy but I have to admit I was a little disappointed.

I didn't get any eyeshadows, nothing special, I did want Aquavert just to be different but it wasn't very pigmented so I passed on it in the end. I really loved the idea of the Tri-colour lipglosses but I only ended up getting one and I had to force myself to get it.

I ended up getting Saint Germain (love this), Bubbles (not sure how to use) and Lollipop Loving (yuk!) lipsticks. I really expected good things from Lollipop Loving, everyone raves about it but I just don't get what all the fuss is about, I really don't like this atal! It's sheer, sparkly and not very flattering on me, a little granified if I'm honest!

Lollipop Loving, Saint Germain, Bubbles then the Tri-colour in Just Desserts (how lame).

Yes the lipgloss is pretty and yes the packaging is so much better than normal lipglosses, please Mac make them all square from now on, but this is such a let down. It has no colour, nothing comes out because of the tiny stopper and the colours mix!

On a good note, when I can get anything out of the tube it does have a nice consistancy and I do love the packaging and three colours. So all in all a good product if you want something pretty to look at!
I bought one MSF, this is Refined a gorgeous peachy, gold blusher/highlighter. I love this and have used it every day since I got it, so beautiful, the best one yet! I passed on the other one in the collection as it was so light but I might go back for it as I love this one so much.
I'm not really a fan of shadesticks, I always find them scratchy and really hard to apply but I heard these new ones were better and hurrah they are. I only got one in the infamous Penny and I love it, it goes on great, gorgeous colour and the packaging is so much nicer!

Shadesticks should all be like this, it looks so much more attractive in this packaging than the original boring black sticks! The others in the collection were really pretty too and I may get some more, maybe Butternutty or Lemon Chiffon!

Such a gorgeous shimmery, peachy copper!

Oh and I passed on the whole strange mint green nail thing so didn't get Peppermint Patti but the other colour looked nice. I haven't heard great things about Mac's nail polish though! In this haul I also got a 239 eyeshadow brush because you can never have enough and a 136 flat bronzer brush.

I really rate Saint Germain, Refined and Penny, what else did you get and is there anything I should really go back for?!
