Beauty agnostic?

Are you a bit of a beauty agnostic? Do you look at products and think I'll believe it when I see it?

I am.

I don't know how but when buying beauty products or tools I am both incredibly gulable and scepticle all at the same time. I buy with hope, sucked in by high claims and pretty packaging but always have the little niggling feeling at the back of my mind asking 'Will this work?' .

I'm an instant gratification kinda gal and find it hard waiting for results but six weeks on using Boot's I-Pulse Skin Smooth I'm starting to see the proof I've needed.
I hate underarm hair and used to shave daily so it's pained me to grow them for photo purposes but it had to be done.

The above photo shows my left arm after six days of letting them grow, as you can see in some places the hair has grown back but there are also visable patches of little or no hair!

I apologise for the clarity or lack of in the next picture but for some reason I couldn't get macro for my right pit.
Wow, right! It may be a bit fuzzy but you can still see how hair free my right armpit is.

How random that one side would work more effectively than the other? I'll just have to give the left side a little more zapping!

So fellow beauty sceptics as you can see the pics are proof that miracles really can happen, I am on my way to fuzz freedom and now I'm seeing I'm believing!

Do you have faith or are you a bit of a beauty agnostic like me?

I am completely sceptical about all anti aging creams. Some must work but they all seem to claim they do amazing things....how do we know when to believe them!

@Miss Jones- me too, creams are probably the trickiest as the results are hardest to see. I doubt any really do anti age but just moisturising in general with any kind prevents ageing! Dry skin leads to wrinkles.x

There are a few active ingredients (less than you can count on one hand) that have been clinically proven to help with wrinkles, unfortunately most companies either don't use them, don't use enough of them or don't package them properly!

It makes it so difficult when you're bombarded with adverts proclaiming the next best thing but it does get easier once you know what you're looking for...

Iam sceptical about most things, espeacially ant ageing products, although at 21 i dont really need them yet.
That is how i got into youtube/blogging, id see a product and want to know if it actually worked before i bought it. xx

@D.D - I just read one article today that basically rubbishes the claims of products containing collagen. Saying they can't penetrate the skin topically anyway so the anti-ageing claim is pointless!will check your blog for vital ingrediants i do need!x

@Charlotte - exactly thats why blogging etc is fab amd great for research!x

Yup, collagen in skincare is completely useless but there are a few ingredients that can cause the skin to make more of it's own collagen. Those ingredients are scientifically proven to work and are recommended by dermatologists the world over..

Now that I have permisson, i'd recommend reading these to anyone who's curious:

I currently epilate my underarms which is super painful but very effective. For me as well, my right armpit hair grows faster than my left!! I dont quite understand it.

Oh my gosh, I NEED ONE!!!! XXX

This is amazing! I'm epilating at th emoment and while it's good its not permanent! This is extremely expensive though! I guess it's worth it though, i would get ored doing my legs though! Have you only used tis on your underarms? x

Holly said...

@Fran - owww i don't know how you do that, I can not stand to do that! thats why the laser is so gxood, pain free and permanent hair removal! love itxz

Holly said...

@Miss Tanya Burr - you do indeed amazing!!no more shaving soon x

Holly said...

@Kerry - yes it is expensive but if I was going to buy it I would invest with 3 friends so bit cheaper and you can all be fuzz free! yes only small areas as i get so bored doing the legs but i will get around to it as i HATE shaving them! xc

Yes, like Miss Jones said, I'm sceptical about anti-aging. I still tried a few thought, because I received it to review or some samples of it. The problem with that is still being young and using it hte preventive way, there is no way to find out before 20 years or so!

Holly, I'm glad the I-Puls is working for you! I'm still entering their contest on Facebook to win mine!!!
