Winging it

Winged eyeliner forms the basis of my everyday signature look which 99% of the time goes like this, contoured cheeks, defined eyes, lashings of mascara and a nude lip.

As I don't have the biggest eyes I find that I need to emphasise them with eyeliner to make them stand out. I know not everyone likes the winged look but as my eyes are almond shaped this effect works best on me.

Over the years I have tried hundreds of eyeliners, you name it I've probably bought it! Across all budgets to all types! Gels, cakes , liquids, powders, felt tips, brushes and pencils.

This eyeliner is quite possibly one of the best I have ever tried and the funny thing is I would never have tried it if it hadn't been given to me at a recent event.

I do NOT usually wear black ever so would never have bought it but this liner has changed my look/opinion completely.

Most blacks I find are simply too harsh as I'm fair, dark browns are usually much more flattering but Abyss isn't the usual flat black.

Even when it dries which by the way takes seconds (super fast) it stays looking shiny and glossy making it strangely much more wearable.

I know a lot of people find getting the perfect line with a liquid eyeliner difficult but this is one of the easiest I have to apply.

The applicator (felt tip) does not drag allowing a fluid motion and the tip is nice and fine giving you a lot of control to create the line and shape you like.

Personally I like a thicker line, I don't really wear eyeshadow most days and like my flick to do the talking so I use the tip on the inner corner and then use the side of the liner to get a thicker line across the lid.

I then use the tip again to draw on my flick, voila!

Although I do love a lot of eyeliners regarding their application and finished look the thing that is the ultimate test for me is their lasting power.

I have very watery eyes annoyingly, which means the majority of the time eyeliners disappear in my outer corner.

Precision Ink is described as waterproof by Illamasqua and although it is very long lasting and hard to remove it is stilled rubbed off by my tears if they water.

Having said this it does withstand my acid tears much better than most of my other favourite eyeliners, YSL eyeliner Moire, Bourjois Clubbing liquid liner and Mac's Liquidlast liner.

Removal is like most other strong eyeliners, any oil based eye make-up remover will do, I use Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Make Up Remover (best ever).

If you want a really good liquid liner the Precision Ink is fabulous, it's unique finish, ease of use, super fast drying time and lasting power make it well worth investing in (£16.50).

I really love this product and hope Illamasqua bring out some more colours, a dark brown and sapphire would be amazing.

i bought this one in the asos sale - it was only £10! i'm not the best at drawing winged eyeliner so i' going to have to keep practising!

they had lots of other good products reduced too - i picked up their duo bronzer for only £12! they had benefit cheaper, along with brushes from both brands!
i picked up an opi polish too ^_^ xx

Your daily make-up ritual matches mine. I adore a near shadowless eye with strong winged eyeliner. I have tried to abandon it the past month or so because I thought that I was in some sort of makeup rut, but when I think about it maybe a classic look never goes out of style. I like seeing the different techniques for doing winged liner, so if you could, please do a tutorial on YT!

This sounds so good! Would love to try on ethat looks a little more glossy rather than flat and matte, as I find they can look worn off when they dry! Must give this a go!

Yes, I'd love to see a tutorial! It's one of my favorite styles and I think it's flattering for my eyes as well but I don't have the hang of it with liquid liners.
