Down in the discontinued dumps

October was a month of rediscovered lip loves for me which without a doubt was a great, great thing.

There's no better feeling than finding something you already own that you used to love but had somehow forgotten.

However, what's not so great is when you fall back in love with something that can never be repurchased or replaced again, a frustrating dilemma I've found myself in recently with these four products.

Rimmel's Volume Booster lipstick in Foxy

This lipstick has been my only handbag essential along with my blotting powder for the past few weeks. Foxy is a gorgeous, extremely wearable, nude rose pink with no shimmer, a creamy formula and tingling sensation.

It does have a not so pleasant Plasticine smell but apart from that it's pretty damn lovely which is why I was devastated yesterday when I took a trip to Boots to buy a back-up and discovered the whole Volume Booster range had disappeared!!

Nars Sabrina Lip Conditioner

Apologies for my mangled excuse of whats left of this tinted lipbalm, clearly it's a little old and has been well loved.

Sabrina was my first ever Nars purchase a few years ago and one of the best things I've owned from the brand.

Although it looks like a pretty peachy pink in the tube it doesn't give much colour payoff but it is moisturising and smells good enough to eat with a strong watermelon scent.

I can't believe this was discontinued, I've been through three over the years, the smell is addictive.

Lancome Baume Baiser - Rose Marshmallow

This once resembled a baby pink, jelly like marshmallow but is now almost beyond recognition.

Possibly my favourite lip balm of all time the Baume Baiser was released as part of a Lancome Christmas collection about three years ago.

The softest, shiniest and most moisturising lip treatment I've ever tried, I loved it so much I purchased three when I found out it was LE and luckily a while ago I saw them on sale at a counter and picked up another three.

This is the last one and almost gone! Nooooooo!

Benefit Her Glossiness - Didn't hear it from me

The only lipgloss I have EVER finished completely and a few times too! I got this free in Glamour magazine originally, I used it up within months and repurchased.

I then finished the second tube too but unfortunately when I went to buy another the line had been replaced by a new range of glosses which FYI aren't as nice but a few weeks ago I spotted this in TKMaxx and had to snap it up.

Didn't Hear It From Me is a lovely soft peachy nude, with a really creamy and non sticky formula.

Swatches
Foxy, Sabrina and Didn't Hear It From Me.

On the one hand I'm ecstatic to be using up some of my products and enjoying them at the same time, on the other I'm a little down in the dumps that I won't ever be able to replace any of these again.

Have you ever been down in the discontinued dumps? What product would you love to bring back??

So difficult when you love a product so much you want to use it all the time, but then you know once it's gone it's gone! Feel your pain! x

Ugh it's always so sad to fall in love with a product which isn't sold in stores anymore :/ I really loved MAC's Slimshine lipsticks, they need to bring those back for sure! Bare was my most favorite but there were a few other very pretty colors as well. I don't know why they got discontinued!

I think I saw Volume Boost range in the shop the other day, gotta check it out to be sure.

Pretty much all my HG are being discontinued! :( Incl. Maybelline LashStylist mascara (I know it's still available in some e-stores, but unfortunately it seems to be a little bit too old, i.e. not fresh, there), Mystery by Naomi Campbell perfume (this one is painful, because it's the only fragrance I can wear and feel comfortable with. I'm on my last bottle now, and can't find it anywhere! :( ), and Blistex Satin Gloss lip balm.

That's so frustrating! I wish companies could announce this kind of things waaay beforehand. Another way is to make a group on facebook for "bringing back X". :)

Hello Hollie!

Yesterday I saw at my local Poundland a selection of discontinued Rimmel (and other brands such as Maybelline, Almay, etc) products! Maybe you could find the lipstick somewhere?

I got my Gorgia Peach NYX lip Pot yesterday and its lovely Holly...very moisterising, keeps my lips lovely and supple...nice shine...not massivly pigmented but a nice hue of pale peach. not sticky, no taste/smell...pain to put your finger in..lip brush is a must IMO. x

I miss the her glossinesses SO badly! I have none left and it makes me sad because the scent of them used to take me back to 2006/2007!!

Just sayin' - the Benefit gloss looks mighty like a Japanese drugstore label Canmake lip gloss, the Nudy Glow Rouge.

I'm a devotee of the Rose Macaroon shade!
