Going fresh-faced and getting feather extensions

I think this is one of the most basic beauty combos I've ever done, and although some may argue that using SEVEN products to produce a look is far from simple, if you've read my blog a while you'll know that anything under ten is a true feat for a full-face lover like me.

Needless to say I'm extremely proud of myself for being able to whittle down the number of products I pat on to my face, and of course for feeling able to pull it off. This may sound mad, but when your used to a certain amount of comfort cosmetics then it's hard to stop yourself applying them.

Anyway, my new (fairly) fresh-faced approach to make-up has all come about after the purchase of  my latest lipstick love, Impassioned, a deep fuchsia pink.  Although it is clearly a bold colour, I think it's extremely wearable, if worn properly.

And by properly I mean - when going bright apply light! So, a little like the old boobs and legs rule, it's either one of the other, hence the minimal(ish) make-up.

What's on my face:

DiorSkin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer (chopped off in picture) - the best coverage yet lightest under eye concealer ever. A must try - review.

Dior Hydralife BB Creme - a truly beautiful light foundation/tinted moisturiser/beauty balm type product; it offers great coverage, a super light finish, has SPF but in short just makes the skin look perfect.

DiorSkin Nude Tan in Sunlight -  offers a beautiful peachy bronzed glow - review.

Gosh Liquid Brow Pen in Wheat - mimics brow hair perfectly, lightly tints patchy areas and lasts all day long. If you like the defined look, you'll like this.

Mac Electric Cool shadow in Superwatt - one of the best eyeshadow formula's I've ever tried. An effortless to use gel/cream/powder formula much like Chanel's Illusion D'Ombre shadows - review.

Benefit's They're Real mascara - a recent repurchase for me, completely love this one coat perfect mascara.  It offers length, volume, separation and bags of drama!

Mac's Impassioned lipstick - Strong colour, creamy formula that lasts ALL day - swatches.

p.s I am not sponsored by Dior in any way, although from the list above it looks that way :)!
Oh, and on a completely different note along with the change in my make-up I also made a slight change to my hair. While at the salon getting my damn roots done and a little chopped off I also impulsively decided I felt like going a bit boho.

I've wanted feather extensions for quite a while now and seeing that the salon offered them I thought 'why not'. I opted for just one of the more natural and subtle shaded feathers to start off with. In fact it's so subtle that you can barely see it, can you?

Ooops.

Has anyone else had these extensions? What did you think?

The lipstick looks very much like Mac's Lustering too. I think you'd like that one as well. I'm with you on the lots of products, there's occasions where I use far too many x

You look beautiful! I think the feather detail is brilliant, subtle, yes, but I think that keeps it classy x

Impassioned looks great on you, on me it's just a bit too neon :( I've got MAC's Sheen Supreme Insanely It which is a similar colour and more wearable for me...have you tried it?

And I LOVE feather extensions. In fact, you've just reminded me that I've got some in my drawer upstairs that I need to get put in! x
