Using more products than I need is one of my worst beauty habits. It's just so easy to get carried away and pile it all on when you have too much choice.
Leaving indecision aside last weekend, I grabbed a train down to London for a couple of days and purposely under packed my makeup bag. Ok, so not quite under packed, but I eliminated all options and took exactly what I needed to cover all bases.
Just eight products to make up my face. Palettes do count as only one, right?
I couldn't be without my ultimate dark circle dream team - Giorgio Armani's Master Corrector (#1) and Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer (#2). A few dabs of Armani's intensely pigmented peach corrector under the eyes and bye bye blues for good. I then follow by a dot of the Dior Nude concealer to even out the colour, this gives great coverage while being lightweight and completely cake free!
As for base, when in doubt I can always count on Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra 24hr (#01) for a seriously flawless and more importantly long-lasting finish. I'm currently on my sixth bottle with not even a blog post to show for it (tut, tut!), this must be rectified ASAP.
Keeping it simple and super basic as usual on the eyes, Urban Decay's Basics Palette is perfect. An all over wash of the slightly yellowy beige Foxy on the lids evens everything out, while a smidgen of off white highlight, Venus opens up the eyes.
Liner didn't make it in to my essentials kit, so instead I plumped for the most intense mascara I own, Revlon's Double Twist. If you like the whole false lash look - you'll love this.
If I'm going minimal (ish) everywhere else then I'm going big on the brows. Lancome's new Le Crayon Sourcils (#020) is fabulous for bold brows - the non waxy, strongly pigmented shadow is packed in to an easy to use pencil form.
On the cheeks to contour, add a bit of blush and a slight highlight I've been using the latest Urban Decay palette, Flushed. LOVE this. Review to come.
Lastly, product number #cough eight #cough is my beloved Rodial Glamstick in Bite. Hydration, shine and my lips but better colour.
All in all this is about as basic as my face is going to get right now and since I've been back it's all I've been doing.
How many products do you need to make up your face?
xx

Every time I go to Sephora I put the Naked Flushed Palette in my basket but end up putting it back and getting something else. Maybe it's time I take the plunge and purchase it. It's so pretty.
I use about 7 products, mostly drug store ones. Nice review, love your blog. I'll be your new follower.

Obsessed with the Urban Decay palettes. Such great products! I'm about a 3 product girl on a lazy day - 8 if it's something fancy. Lately, I love trying new looks from the 77looks app, though, https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/77looks-best-how-to-tips-for/id594708689?ls=1&mt=8
And I can't help but use more than my norm :-)
So happy to see the urban decay naked pallet in this post. My absolute favourite, that's one thing I couldn't have left at home for the trip!
