@Littlemissmakeup - hmm thanks, all i do really to keep them in good condition is to apply vaseline or Mac's skin salve before i start applying my face makeup and then by the time i come to apply my lip products they go on really well as my lips are moisturised!xx

Lancome makes a variety of glosses (Juicy Tubes). This may be a good introduction into glosses. I personally prefer a more matte lip but in the rare occassion I decide to go glossy I have a few Juicy Tubes in my makeup bin.

I have been wanting to try Laura Mercier's glosses for a long time now, perhaps I should check them out more closely next time!
As for recommendations, the Dior Addict Ultra-Reflects glosses are lovely. Very pigmented and smooth with a brush applicator and soft finely milled shimmer. Colour 147 "trenchcoat beige" is beautiful, and "clutch pink" 517 is pretty as well :)

I looove lipgloss. Off the top of my head the ones that aren't too sticky are Laura Gellar and a drugstore brand would be Elite the plumping lipgloss are not very sticky either. I quite like sticky gloss as I usually tie my hair back while at work (and I feel like I live at work) so I don't often have the lipgloss, hair, face problem!
